EDITING

By playing around during my preliminary task, I looked through some effects that I would be able to use for my music video.

I chose to use the kaleidoscope because of different personalities we can have with different person and also to represent the way someone can affect you in many ways

To edit my music video, I used Final Cut Pro. I started by uploading all the resources I needed on the softwares.

I created a new project where I began by putting the music and then followed my script to arrange the shots and then arrange it with my feeling and how I felt it would look better.

Throughout the music video, there is a continuous flow for it to tell a story in a conceptual way by making representation og an important topic in nowadays with food, water and other props.

I was able to create a story by using the same shots that were continuing in between other shots.

Those two shots appear at the beginning of the music video. They are actually from the same shot but the one on the left is the beginning of it and the right one is the end. During the music video the shot will appear in between others until the end where it will be the same than the beginning

Kaleidoscopes are an important element in my music video. I used them because they can be seen as something broken (this is why I used it when it talks about drinks)

or even multiple personalities. Anyone can interpret it their way.

Eyes are always the ones that betrays us when hiding emotions, with the topic of the song having a close-up of eyes looking away and then looking into the camera helped depending if the model needed to be confident or shy.

Here we can see the difference of the fruit getting brown of time passing.

She starts with a more masculine look because she is wondering what if she was a boy but she isn't so I made her push the camera to enhance the fact that she isn't and then bringing back up to come back reality

In the music video there are shots which are more sexual. I did this to show that it's considered sexual because a girl is doing and not a boy if it would have been the other way around it would have looked weird or funny.

During the chorus, she said a more vulgar word that doesn't exist for men to enhance the fact that it is often use when it's not needed, I did a lip sing where she says it with a very tonal voice.

The shot with the dress is progressive during the music video. It's to question the control that a girl has when she says no.

The four persona my character is playing are presented in the chorus because everyone has the right to speak this is also the reason why they are lip syncing.

The kaleidoscope in the chorus can be interpreted how each one understand the lyrics. Here my idea was to represent how the voices are getting louder and then shut down.

Each fruit has a specific meaning which are explained in the creative critical reflection. Due to those meaning they appear in the music video at specific timing.

The sink scene can seem disturbing or funny when you see, this is done on purpose to mock men's shameless attitudes like peeing anywhere they can.

In those two shots we can observe the way both are dependent from thread for example with the Pinocchio or the cigarette with the character of the video. This idea to show how people can dependent of someone and how someone can be dominant on another person. Often those kind of relation aren't healthy

The egg represents birth, in the lyrics chilla talks about a men beating his wife. A pregnancy can fail due to punches. In the shot the egg is unusually breaking and the yellow opens to imitates that it wasn't supposed to break.

This is the last kaleidoscope in the music video. It's joining each kaleidoscope together with their meaning making up the female gender this is why it's most divided images you will see in the music video.
