Here are the important elements you should think about when talking about a music video :

The music video is one which will use the literal lyrics as a basis for the visuals. There is a strong bond between the lyrics and the music video

The music video will encourage audiences to speculate as to deeper meaning of the song by using a narrative which is not lifted literally from the lyrics. There is no obvious bond.

They are centered around the artist, they are common in the genre rock and pop. It allows the artists to self-promote themselves to their audience.

They are the cheapest to make because they don't require a great deal setting. It's a way of promoting their concerts as they always look good.

On the other hand, they can be quite generic and boring and can also lack of sense of creativity.

It communicates a story to their audience. They are different types of narrative music video :

 - I l l u s t r a t i o n : very closely reflects the lyrical content of the song

 - A m p l i f i c a t i o n : sightly influenced by the lyrical content

 - D i s j u n c t u r e : very little relationship to the song

It can shows that the artist is more interested in creating a story for their audiences, it can engage the audience further than listening to the song but they can be expensive to produce and could leave the audience confuse if it's unclear

There is no relation with lyrical content and no storyline. There are two types of conceptual video :

 - T h e m a t i c : based around the theme

 - S y m b o l i c : often lots of symbols to build up a meaning

They are often creativity, 'artsy', unique and memorable but can turn out random and strange. It also can be a disadvantage for the artist itself if he is not feature it doesn't promote it.

As the song that I chose had a deep meaning behind it, I'm planning on making an illustrative narrative music video for it to reflect the lyrics. I'm interested in most techniques unless the chroma key because I do not see the necessity of using this techniques for my music video.

D I G I P A K :

A plastic holder that contains one or more disks, it's a way of packing for CD's and DVD's. They are mostly used for special edition or albums. With the artists and the records labels, they became more famous around the 2000's

Inside of those, you can often find more information about the album or the artist itself. The front and back panels are most of the time attractive to the audience they wanna reach, they are used to draw in the customers.

The front panel tends to have a relation with the songs/artists and the back panel contains the tracklist, Artist/album name, Album artworks, recored label, barcode, extra information.

For the digipak, I want to keep it conventional but I want it to contain some elements from the music video and website. Another aspect is that I want to shoot someone different than the one in the music video and put both in the website. For the cover of the website, I will put the protagonist of the music video to promote the new music video and the model of the digipak on the actual digipak.
